2 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
3/4 cups water
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp vital wheat gluten (optional – keeps crust from being crumbly)
3 tbsp olive oil
Note: I add to the crust any spices and or herbs that I will be putting into the dish I am making.
Mix dry ingredients in mixing bowl. Add olive oil and work in to dry ingredients. Add water and mix until it all comes together.
To use as pie crusts split half. Shape into two discs and wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Put in refrigerator for at least 15 minutes. Makes two 9″ crusts.
To use as a pizza crust leave whole. Shape into one disc and wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Put in refrigerator for at least 20 minutes.
Roll out to use.
