I love this cornbread recipe! It is so simple to make. I know a lot of folks say they use the mixes because its faster,but really this only takes about 2 more minutes. Isn’t 2 minutes of your time worth knowing what went into your food? For me it is!
1 cup milk
1 1/4 cups whole what flour
3/4 cup cornmeal
1/4 cup honey
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup olive oil
1 beaten egg or 2 egg whites
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees (I always forget this part and end up baking it longer)
Grease an 8 or 9 inch pan
Combine dry ingredients then mix in milk, oil, honey and egg until moistened.
At this point you can add in anything extra that you like. Like maybe green chilis or jalapenos or cheese or corn.
Pour into pan
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until done. Use knife check method… when it comes out clean it is done.
