I posted a recipe for whole wheat cornbread on 3/18/2012. https://hoecakesandhemlines.wordpress.com/2012/03/18/easy-whole-wheat-cornbread/
I used that recipe this time but I added some hemp hearts to it. Wow! Those little things are so delicious! I keep finding new things to add them to and have yet to be disappointed. Please try this!
1 cup milk
1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
3/4 cup cornmeal
1/4 cup honey
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup olive oil
1 beaten egg or 2 egg whites
A splash of lime juice
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Grease a 8 or 9 inch pan.
Combine dry ingredients then mix in milk, oil, honey and egg until moistened.
At this point you can add in anything extra that you like. Like maybe green chilis or jalapeno or cheese or corn. OR HEMP HEARTS!
Thank you Manitoba Harvest!! Thank you! I love your product!
Pour into pan
Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until done.
You can see the little bits of hemp hearts on top, mmmmmm…..
